I’m glad to find out I am not the only person to fold in the edges before starting the stitching. Every time I’ve mentioned this method to stitching friends, I got raised eyebrows and “how quaint” remarks…
The reason I started doing this was that I noticed there was no sewing needed when it came to finishing the edges, and no bulky edge either. But it is a bit fiddly to do and counting mistakes in the length and width are totally unforgiving, so I sppose I can’t blame my friends for not even trying it once
